Really, I must hand it to St. Luke's: they're reminding us that modern medical miracles really do exist. I was talking with Dr. Alexis Weinhardt (the consulting doctor on the juvenile leukemia case) and apparently the child's recovery is entirely due to short bursts of chemo-genetic therapy shots first tested by scientists at Langone. And to think that such a treatment was unheard of five years ago. Five years ago and that child would have been dead.
Unrelated, but tomorrow afternoon is looking delicious. I suppose that is what happens when one's birthday is so impeccably planned. |
